FESTIVAL MUSIC HOUSE at ROOSEVELT ROOM for TIFF

Think of your favourite movie. Now take away its soundtrack.
Whether it’s The Graduate or Garden State, moving pictures need moving music. Festival Music House offers members of the film and television industries a golden opportunity to explore Canada’s wealth of musical talent during the Toronto International Film Festival.

Festival Music House (http://www.festivalmusichouse.com), the official three-day musical component of the Toronto International Film Festival®, with a killer lineup of Canadian indie, will take place at The Roosevelt Room on September 13, 14 and 15.

Headlining the three-night gala will be Montreal indie pop trailblazers Stars (Sept. 13), Juno Award-winning and Platinum-selling singer-songwriter City And Colour (Sept. 14) and The Tragically Hip frontman and folk-rock legend Gord Downie (Sept. 15).

The exclusive, invite-only event will feature an impressive array of Canadian musical talent, performing privately for Festival delegates, producers, directors, writers, actors and music supervisors in an extremely intimate setting.

Festival Music House promises to engage and entertain attendees; all the while honouring our nation’s diverse and sublimely gifted musical landscape. In its inaugural year, Festival Music House received over 400 artist submissions, with the final lineups carefully selected by a panel of artists and industry insiders.

Additional musical highlights include performances from Newmarket, Ontario indie “it kids” Tokyo Police Club, Toronto rock gods Zeus, Montreal-born piano genius Chilly Gonzales and up-and-coming Vancouver outfit The Racoons.

The promise of each FMH showcase is to play gracious host to film and television industry elite, who will be simultaneously immersed in world-class musicianship and a level of luxury that’s become synonymous with the Toronto International Film Festival®.
