Defected Records the world’s biggest House music label comes to Toronto with a new exclusive monthly residency.
Listen up Toronto, the Europeans are in town and they are coming here to show us how they party. This is their debut so they have something to prove, expect a little Parisian glamour, some strange accents and the most amazing House music infused with soul, funk and disco.
This is the first party that Defected Records have brought to Toronto. For those of you who do not know Defected Records they are the most internationally recognised dance music label in the world with a reputation built on the love of music. If you’ve ever been to a club, bar where the DJ was playing House music, the likelihood is that at least one of the records you heard was signed to Defected. For the last 10 years they’ve been releasing tunes that have defined the scene and are now unquestionably the global authority within the genre. The label has worked with some of the biggest names in the business, and is responsible for introducing talents such as Bob Sinclar, Junior Jack, ATFC, Sandy Rivera and Copyright to an ever-hungry audience.
The headliner of this event is Michael Canitrot, the super cool guy behind the legendary ‘So Happy In Paris’ club nights. This is Paris’s most glamorous club. He is also the guy behind ‘Desire’ one of the biggest vocal house hits of the year. His sound is house with disco inspired flavours, perfect for the The Roosevelt Room.
Continuing with the French and European vibe is Monsieur Cedric, a DJ originally from Paris who later became the resident dj at Nikki Beach St. Tropez. Fortuitously he visited the Toronto film festival last year, and was specially asked to stay behind to play exclusively for The Supperclub and the rest is history.
This is your chance to sample a little piece of that French European House Music vibe close to your own doorstep.
