THE LOCATION

Dolce Social Ballroom, the latest venture from Travis Agresti (Kai and Inside), is determined to showcase entertainment and social activity with an unprecedented level of hospitality and sophistication. It features a nightly programme that encapsulates all facets of music, fashion, film and design, aimed at an upscale clientele.

With a mix of electronica, popular hits and classic rock favourites, and live special-guest DJs, one night it’s a destination for the asymmetrical-haircut, the next it’s home to a raucous subculture party, the next it’s a musical palace bustling with all socialites and scenesters.

“The best nights are when you see the crossover, the people who come for a ‘night out’ and end up staying for a ‘house party’. This is the factory for manufactured memories!” – Travis Agresti

The decor by Charles Doell strives for glitz: sheets of crumpled gold metal line the columns and the ceiling, an underlit onyx dance floor that runs the perimeter of the club, with warm woods and silky-textured banquette, psychedelic atom-shaped lamps that hang over booths, and unisex bathroom stalls that feature clear doors that turn opaque when locked. The club holds 560 on the main floor and 280 on the rooftop patio.
