DJ Optick (Bogdan Moldovan) – a man on a mission! From festivals to club gigs, from dance events in front of hundreds to tens of thousands of people, Optick’s mixing style has brought him immense popularity on the electronic music scene.
In 2005, Optick started to produce music and executed several remixes for Romanian artists like: Miki, Activ, and Voltaj. Optick’s Liberty Parade 2006 anthem with Activ, “Feel Good”, has been broadcast by Pete Tong’s “Essential Selections” on at BBC Radio 1. He then topped the charts, taking both 1st and 2nd place for best musical production (of the electronic genre) in Romania with “Vibers feat Tara Mc Donald – Revolution”.
In 2009, Optick partenered with Ciprian Lemnaru, one of the most appreciated Romanian producers, to release “Maya” on the Dutch label Connected on 90watts records, which premiered on Ibiza Global Radio’s “IBIZA DANCE”.
In 2010 he produced a remix for Jens De Langer’s Arturian Armitrage, and worked with Sllash & Doppe on two amazing tracks, “Ningua” and “Ikra”, accompanied by two excellent remixes from Samy Wentz and Julien Sandre, on the exclussivist label Natural Rhythm.
Optick hosts “Next Level”, a cosmopolite clubbing radio show, whose beats are as relevant today as they were ten years ago, broadcast on the nation’s top radio station, Radio 21. The show serves a a venue to discover and promote newcomers, producers and well-known DJs. Optick also hosts a weekly show on the top dance station, Vibe FM, alongside Defected Romania’s “Clubland Adventures”.
